RUN UNDER THE STARS WILL BE HELD BEGINNING 8 PM SATURDAY JUNE 10, 2023 AND ENDING SUNDAY 6AM JUNE 11.

***RUN UNDER THE STARS*** 10 HOUR ENDURANCE RUN:
This is a night time run. Run, jog, walk, rest, stop and start as much as you'd like.
The objective is to see how far you can go; however you can stop at any time if you've reached your goal or if you've had enough.

HIGHLIGHTS:
CHIP TIMING SYSTEM will keep your distance recorded. You can check your mileage any time you cross through the timing area. We will also display a hard copy of everyone's mileage hourly.
No traffic, no hills, no roots, no hard running surface.
NO HOT SUN BEATING DOWN ON YOU.
This could possibly be the course you'll set a personal best for whatever distance you run.
On Site Parking so No hotel needed.
Campers are welcome with hook-ups available for $10 fee/night. NOTE: the hookups are outside the track next to the grandstands. Literally on the other side of the track fence.)
You can set up a tent under the large shade trees in the grass infield. You can use your car. Or you can use the large covered grandstands. There is plenty of room. This is a good one to bring the family to. You can stop and see them as much as you like.

ENTRY LIMITS:
180 individual runners; and 10 relay teams. This is a wide track with plenty of room so we should be able to take care of everyone.

WHEN:
Saturday evening June 9, 2018 beginning at 8pm and ending Sunday morning June 10, at 6am.

CHECK IN: You can set up beginning after noon on Saturday June 11, and you don't have to depart until noon on Sunday June 11.
WHERE: Directions to site:
Luther Carson Park, 300 N. 30th Street, Paducah, KY.
Check your odometer as you exit I-24 Exit 4, East on US 60 (Hinkleville Rd, although it soon changes names to Park Ave), you'll pass several car dealerships, and you'll PASS Bluegrass Downs race track at mile 1.7(DO NOT GO TO BLUEGRASS DOWNS). 2.4 miles from the interstate turn RIGHT at the traffic light at Dairy Queen (across from Bob Noble Park) and continue to follow US 60 East (note: NOT US 60 Business). Go straight through the next traffic light. In less than 1/2 mile you'll see an entrance for Luther Carson Park on your right. If you take this entrance, then follow the gravel road to the left and behind the grandstands over to the parking area. If this entrance is not open merely continue on to the next traffic light (Jefferson St) and turn right. Go to N. 30th Street (about 1/2 mile) and turn right. The entrance to the park is one block on your right on N. 30th.

PACKET PICK UP:
Saturday June 9; 4 pm - 7:30 pm at the race site.

COURSE:
Carson Park Horse Track, Paducah, KY, is a certified 1/2 mile track composed of dirt and finely crushed limestone. It is groomed daily and will be set up with a 1/2 inch cushion to make it easy on your legs. The track drains well in the event of rain. It is basically flat, with slight banking in the turns, and contains no trip hazards.

RELAY TEAMS:
10 relay teams will be accepted. A team will consist of 2 or 4 members. One member will attach the timing chip and wear the race belt with the team bib # attached. Members must exchange the timing chip and belt to whichever member is accumulating mileage for the team. It is permissable that additional team members run alongside, but their mileage does not count towards the total. Team members may run as much or little as they want, and in whichever order they please. In fact, one or two runners can run 90% of the distance if that's what the team wants.

AID STATIONS:
A large station will be set up right on the track (out of the way of runners of course). Each runner will have their own water bottle (with your name on it) to use. (This should greatly reduce the number of paper cups needed). S.W.O.R.D. hydration drink, water, Coke, Hammer Gel, Cookies, Pretzels, M&Ms, and other food items will be available. As the night goes on we'll bring in pizza, and we'll have coffee available.
Two separate Rest rooms with running water are available each lap. The first one is located outside of turn 2. Go through the marked gate, use the rest room, and continue outside the track to the next available gate. This is acceptable. The second rest room is located outside of turn 3.

DROP BAGS:
You can have whatever you want (within reason) at your site either in the infield, grandstands, or at your car.
NOTE: IF YOU LEAVE THE TRACK, YOU MUST RE-ENTER AT THE SAME SPOT YOU EXITED with the exception of the first rest room.

AMENITIES:
Individual runners receive the following: Short Sleeve Shirt; Drawstring Backpack;Running style cap; Finisher's Award indicating your total distance.

AWARDS
Besides all of the amenities you receive there will also be special awards for the five males and females who cover the most distance; and to the top three Relay teams in each category covering the most distance.
